Installation of PTF02014

This PTF includes enhancements to the archive enquiry and retrieval options (14 and 15) and the Source Compare option (82)

Before restoring the software rename the following files in the FENIX library:

1.   SCL014;

2.   SCL014L0;

3.   SCL014L1;

4.   SCL014L2;

5.   SCL014L3;

6.   SCL014L4;

7.   SCL014L5;

8.   SCL014L6;

Restore the PTF objects to library FENIX from the two save files PTF02014F (Files) and PTF02014P (Programs) found in the actual PTF file delivered, PTF02014.

Rename the following physical file(s) in the system library FENIXQQQ:

1.   SCL014 to SCL014XX;

Delete the following logical file(s) in the system library FENIXQQQ:

2.   SCL014L0;

3.   SCL014L1;

4.   SCL014L2;

5.   SCL014L3;

6.   SCL014L4;

7.   SCL014L5;

8.   SCL014L6;

Re-activate the system (option 1, F17 followed by F18)

The new versions of the files will appear in FENIXQQQ.

Copy the old renamed (XX) physical file to the new version of the file in the system library FENIXQQQ using the FORMAT(*MAP *DROP copy options.

Archive enquiry and retrieval
These options now also:

·         Include the display of production objects indicated by the location indicator (C) -(C=Change - latest version in production)

·         Include the display of the previous production version objects indicated by the location indicator (B)-(B=Base - penultimate version of the object)

·         The entries now appear in descending sequence of version number (latest first)

·         Include the retrieval of objects from the previous version library (the penultimate version of the object)

Previously only the versions in the archive library locations (A) archive library (ARC), in (S) saved files, and in (T) on magnetic tape were displayed for enquiry and/or retrieval.

New Source Compare function

This version of the software completes the source compare function (option 82) with the facility of displaying all versions located in production identified by location indicator (C), in the previous version library identified by location indicator (B), and versions in the archive libraries ARC identified by location indicator (A) Comparisons may now be made between any of these versions interactively or submitted to batch.  The user will be prompted the compare command before execution with the option of cancelling the request. The user also has the option of viewing the source member by entering 5(=View Source) in the field selection of the required object.

Display selection is available by PRN, Task, Object, Type, Location, etc as with the archive location and retrieval functions. The following screen shows an example.
